The adrenal glands sit on top of the kidneys. Some people who are under stress find that the overactivity of the adrenals causes hyperactivity and/or spasm in the kidneys. This can lead to loss of fluids and trace minerals due to the excessively rapid transit through the kidneys. Maintaining elasticity and strengthening both the capacity for dealing with stress as well as the functioning of the kidneys can prevent certain potentially serious deficiency conditions.
